Ok, I am SURE this is a whole lot simpler.... I removed the set screw, do I just pull up on the shifter ball?

Remove the set screw and then the knob and button unscrew.

ok, instead of starting a separate post..for all my questions..this will be my One Stop.....

I got the back seat out, now.........(and I'm not 35 anymore, I just turned 60.) does the white rear panel just have clips, (besides seat belt bolt)or do I look for screws. I am putting new carpet in.

Thanks

John

Just clips along the sides and bottom. The top of the panel slides under the stainless trim.

Thanks, came right off.

I had minor rust and a few small holes under the carpet, so a quick wire brush..and some fiberglass resin and paint. It's a driver!

Now, I'm sure this is simple. I have Top Cat window felts. So does this upper pad (I took the one screw out) just wiggle and jiggle up and out?

I know I'm asking simple question...sorry.

There should be a screw in the door jamb area along with one at the back of the panel. And then itís just held on with clips like the door panels have.

Thank you Dealer Demo..got the pad off.

Now, for the Top Cat window felts.....any trick to getting the old weather-stripping off. And I usually go slow.

The upper padded part was original , pretty good for almost 50 years. Will replace them..sometime..

They clip in. Removal will require an upward pulling force.

Been over 7 years since I did mine however as I recall there were two types of window channel weatherstripping. The "standard" sets were garbage and I needed to order a "deluxe" set which were closer to originals and work well.

Top Cat is going onward guys....took me three hours to do.....one.....ha...The .original pads are missing two clips. Will take a picture. Anyway, I grease the window cranks too. Sand a few parts. One works hard going up. Put new plastic on the door...water barrier. And somewhere..I date and sign the part with a Sharpie underneath. The door panels are Year One..dated
2005
Picture is the staples on back of the upper door pad

Once I pried it off, I still had to get the staples out.

And this is the outer window felt..being pulled up
