---- Disassembly Photos updated Dec 7, 2013 ----

I finally started tearing it down this last weekend, performing a detailed inspection and preparing it for the sand / soda blaster.

This is just a small sample of the photos I took while documenting the car.
It's very useful when putting back together as well as determining the original paint lines and other factory details.

Fender Tag Data:

Bringing it home - Note the factory original EK2 fenders and hood under the car on the trailer.

Gotta love the Mud Grip Tires !

Original Fenders and Hood on Trailer....Useable but not as good as the ones the previous owner threw in for the sale.

---- Go Wing -----

Good measurement info.....

Factory drip line on torsion bar....

Non-Original motor but a good, period correct HP Block.
VIN # Appears to be from a 70 Hamtramck built Challenger.

Passenger side mirror - a somewhat rare option

V21 Performance Stripe - Nice to see exactly where the tape line goes..

Original hood with evidence that one of the previous owners bolted on some (unidentified) hood scoops.
Possibly 70 Super Bee Scoops ?

---> Retouched photo - removed last digit of VIN :)

Defroster

----> Disassembled, Sand / Soda Blasted, started the metal work...  More pics to come

Yea, that's strange.  I'm not sure what's up with that.

Looks good so the hood blackout was painted in the factory before the front screan went in.

Cant vouch for the font size and format, but regarding the typo....I modified the picture before putting it on the web.  The last number of the VIN is on the decal. Tongue

Thanks for the feedback.

I figured he took the last numbers off (not sure why people worry about that)

But your right. It looks totally wrong. But looks old at the same time. Wonder if it was a replacement when the car was new?

Question: I noticed that the VIN sequence (and probable build date) is quite a bit higher on these vin decals.
Does anyone have a JAN/FEB/March build date, or a vin seq starting with 18xxxx ?

Thx

I think the only changes they made to them was changing the year from 4 digits to two. Notice how that all have two dots after where it says "vehicle number"
