Putting some horns on the 70, since they did not work & did not want to drill out the rivets & redo,( made new rivets for my buddy on his R.R. horn). So soked one in Evap-o-rust, (one to two days), still would not work. So took it to work, drilled the rivets, (got a few extra horns) pried it open, looked like new inside, that stuff works great. Set of contacts inside were fused together, pried apart, it worked.
Started thinking, (that will get you trouble) about the other ones I have. The next day took one I had not soaked & took out the little screw that sets the pitch, I believe. With the scre out you can insert something small to push down on the contact inside, thus breaking them apart. Did this & the horn worked great. Hope this helps.

That is freaking awesome! I will have to remember this if I am ever able to find a set of factory horns. Makes me wonder if this would work on my VWs voice box also. Never had one of those with working horns. Hehe. Thanks! Avolow.

Actually I have a set of very loud air horns on mine right now. Looking for something louder though. My neighbor has a giant Peterbuilt semi and he was looking to replace his horns. Think those would get the attention of whoever I need3ed to blow them at? Avolow.

Those rock! I have also been working on an idea for the last ten years or so along the line of the old musical horns. Hoping someday it will make some noise behind my grill. Avolow.

If you change the windings in your stock horn with copper ones you get the beep beep! And my buddy installed air powered train horns on his car!! he installed a friggin compressor in his trunk just to run them!! Those damn horns scare the crap out of me whenever he honks them! They are loud!!!! They work almost as well as thefinger! Tony

I currently have air horns on my car. They are the little ones that come with their own compressor about the size of the headlight door motor. I wanted the big ones on a semi truck, but could never find them for an affordable price. Wasn't going to put the semi ones on the Charger though, was going to put those on my 70 VW Bug. Figured that would be fitting. Avolow.
